On Monday, the tribunal heard phone records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt consistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most widely reported child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm overweight and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Suppose there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? What happens next? Wouldn't that be significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to discover," the recording stated.

The panel was told that through emails, SMS messages and communications, Ms Wandelt requested a DNA test, sent early photographs to her phone in a effort to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an investigator with the police force who gathered the evidence, told the court there "seemed to lack any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's recording saying "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court learned Mrs Spragg developed a association via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in the county in that winter.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had communicated through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to state the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she should be treated respectfully in the period leading up to the appearance to the village, Leicestershire, in December 2024.

The court was told communications between the two individuals, in that autumn, discussing trying to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her trash or from utensils at a eating establishment.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg informed Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the trip to their house, Mrs Spragg transmitted a communication which expressed: "We find ourselves positioned outside the McCanns' house with our headlights off resembling private investigators. I wanted to accomplish this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The trial proceeds.
