British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
