The loved ones of young people lost after a devastating blaze at a bar in a Swiss winter destination are facing an agonising wait for official news and requesting clues about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed images depict the ceiling igniting as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Authorities have warned that it could take an extended period to identify the those who perished of the fire, which claimed the lives of numerous partygoers and wounded another scores more. Officials stated on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts ongoing to locate the remaining few.

In the meantime, families and friends have been using the internet to plead for information about their friends who were at the bar that fateful night.

Desperate Searches for the Missing

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an heartfelt request from his family.

The resident of Lutry near Lausanne, told a publication that she had gone back to the city to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in Bern, but did not locate him.

"This is a living nightmare, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the morgue, or I find him in a serious state. It's terrible," she stated.

She continued that some of his companions had been discovered with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced an absolute nightmare."

The Italy's government has indicated that a number of of its citizens remain missing.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.

"A close friend informed me they fled after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she said, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his kindness and smile, alongside great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her brother has shared an appeal online, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also reported missing.

Officials from her country of origin say they are closely watching the situation.
