Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

A family member told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
