Trump's Family Member Seeks Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
The rising star has substantial social media following
Kai Trump will have plenty of well-known backers when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns several international courses and regularly plays against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He practically advised me to compete and have fun," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in just three tournaments recently and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
Yet she can get advice from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He stands as the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive individual. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."
She'll challenge several most prominent players in professional golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that her participation exposes the sport to new audiences, specifically reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
