Two Charged Over Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
